Shobhan Chaudhuri informs about laying foundation stone, inauguration, dedication to Nation of various railway projects by PM on Mar 12

• NR will get four New Vande Bharat Express Trains
• 5 Jan Ausadhi Kendra, 147 OSOP, Five Rail Coach Restaurants, several other developmental projects

New Delhi, Mar 11: Indian Railway is national railway transport system in India and is an integral part of India’s transportation infrastructure
Significant transportation is on horizon for country’s railway landscape as rail projects worth more than Rs. 85000 crores will be launched on March 13 to revolutionize Indian Railways.
General Manager Northern Railway, Shobhan Choudhuri held a Press Conference in Baroda House New Delhi today and briefed the media persons about the various projects of Northern Railway which will be dedicated to Nation/ foundation stone will be laid/ inaugurated by PM on 12.03.2024.
Shobhan Choudhuri apprised the media persons that Northern Railway Zone is set to benefit from several new projects viz:
Delhi Division – PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji will dedicate 2 Good Sheds, Jan Ausadhi Kendras, a Rail Coach Restaurant, the Anand Vihar-Tilak Bridge 3rd and 4th Rail Line, 48 One Station One Product outlets, 17 DFC (Cargo Handling Points), and lay the foundation stone for the Upgradation of maintenance facilities, including the provision of covered sheds on Washing Cum Pit-lines at Anand Vihar, the Upgradation/Development of Maintenance Infrastructure as VBE Maint. Depot Incl. provision for M&P and Training Facilities, etc., at Bijwasan, and the Setting up of a Trainset Depot for Maintenance of Vande-Bharat Sleeper Trains at Anand Vihar.
Lucknow Division – New projects to be inaugurated include 10 Good Sheds, Gatishakti Cargo Terminals, 22 One Station One Product projects, 2 Rail Coach Restaurants, the Doubling of Akbarpur-Barabanki Rail Section, the Doubling of Jaunpur-Akbarpur Rail Section, and the Annuppur Katni 3rd Rail Line. Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji will lay the foundation stone for building the Universal Coaching Maintenance Facility and flag off the New Vande Bharat Express between Lucknow and Patna.

Moradabad Division – Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji will dedicate Gatishakti Cargo Terminals, Jan Ausadhi Kendras, the Doubling of Roza-Sitapur-Burhwal Rail Section, 06 Good Sheds, 23 One Station One Product projects, and 7 DFC (Cargo Handling Points). He will also flag off the New Vande Bharat Express between Dehradun and Lucknow.
Ambala Division – Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji will dedicate Gatishakti Cargo Terminals, 08 Goods Sheds, the Doubling of Rajpura-Bathinda Rail Section, 13 One Station One Product projects, and 13 DFC (Cargo Handling Points).

Firozpur Division – Will be benefited from dedication of 03 Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals, 04 Goods Sheds, 02 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, 02 Rail Coach Restaurants, 36 One Station One Product projects, along with the laying of the foundation stone for the Upgradation of Maintenance Infrastructure at Amritsar into Vande Bharat Chair Car Maintenance Depot.

Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji will also flag off 10 new Vande Bharat Trains, extend four existing Vande Bharat trains, introduce two new passenger trains, and inaugurate seven new freight trains, significantly enhancing rail infrastructure and connectivity in the country including Northern Railway such as:

Lucknow – Dehradun Vande Bharat Express.
Ranchi – Varanasi Vande Bharat Express.
Delhi ( Hazrat Nizamuddin) – Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express.
Patna – Lucknow Vande Bharat Express.
